Dr. Eliberto Calderon
I have always been a maverick spirit that embraces change, challenges authority, but first and foremost, I challenge myself in striving for full realization of potential, skills, and talents. As a civilian adolescent I enlisted in the Army as an Air Defender consciously transforming into a combat soldier, enthusiastically participating in the military indoctrination process. Upon leaving the Army, I found a lot of ways to fail, as my soldier identity clashed with civilian life. Failing at business, marriage, and losing custody of my sons Marcos, Rosadio, and Esai. These experiences left me angry, frustrated, and spent which fueled a holistically identity transformation into a full civilian and the maverick scholar. Conducting my own transformative process was extremely painful throughout the healing process where I had to confront all demons and wounds without medication (prescribed or self-medicated). Long story short, I spent the last thirty years as follows: ten years in the Army, ten years of failure, and the last ten succeeding beyond belief. For example, August 1, 2022, I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Ph. D., in Organization, Information, and Learning Sciences.
As a professional learning scientist and quality of life broker (educator, entrepreneur, and researcher) I have discovered a deep passion for exploring and understanding the human experience in perpetually changing environments. Conducting my own transformative process has forged an unbreakable belief that people do not want to suffer but instead want to live a happy and thriving quality of life. Every single person has the power to overcome their past experiences turning trauma into triumph; but only if they are willing to put in the hard work necessary and learn new ways of being. Your quality of life experience is 100% your responsibility whether you are living out your own design or suffering due to your own negligence; you must own your performance and outcomes. Great news though you can change, heal, and craft a new life of fulfillment.“Be the change that you seek in the world” -Gandhi
